1. Core functions and importance:
Support and positioning: Provide precise support and positioning for the valve's closure component, ensuring it can move to the closed position accurately and stably.
Forming a sealing pair: The valve seat and the closure member (such as the valve disc or gate plate) jointly form a sealing pair, which is the core of achieving zero or low leakage function of the valve. The material, machining accuracy, and structural design of the sealing surface of the valve seat directly determine the sealing level of the valve.
Affecting system efficiency: A suitable valve seat can effectively enhance sealing performance, reduce medium loss and energy waste caused by leakage, and simultaneously minimize vibration and wear during valve operation, thereby improving the operational efficiency and stability of the entire equipment system.
2. Selection and installation:
Material matching: Select the valve seat material based on the characteristics of the medium (corrosivity, temperature, cleanliness). For example, EPDM rubber is suitable for conveying tap water, NBR is suitable for conveying oil-based media, and PTFE is suitable for highly corrosive media.
Structure matching with valve: The valve seat must precisely match the structure and dimensions of the valve body and closure, otherwise it may lead to leakage, loosening, or abnormal wear.
Installation standardization: Proper installation is the foundation for ensuring the functionality of the valve seat. Key steps include:
Inspection and preparation: Confirm that the valve seat matches the valve, and clean the installation surface to ensure it is free of contaminants.
Precise fixation: Securely and horizontally fix the base at the predetermined position, ensuring its coaxiality with the valve to avoid unnecessary friction during operation.
Connection and commissioning: After connecting the pipeline and actuator, commissioning tests are required to verify whether the sealing performance and switch adjustment functions are normal
